Tool to open expensive watch It's a Seiko.

Which tool do you recommend for prying open my classic wristwatch to replace the battery. Watch shops charge too much for this simple task. It's a Seiko.

Hi @joelsilverman

If the back of the watch has notches, here's a video that may help.

If it has what is known as a snap off back then this video may help.

Thanks. It's the snap-off type. Which tool does iFixit offer that would work?

Watchmaking has long history and tradition that it should be considered its own category, with specialized toolset and skillset.

What you are looking for is case openers that are made specifically for the type of cases your watch has, be it a clip-on or screw-back cases.
