My extruder is not moving along the x axis. How can I fix this?

I was trying to calibrate my printer, and I realized that the extruder is only staying in a straight line along the right side of the plate - there is no x-axis movement. How can I fix this?

It sounds like your printer's X-axis might not be functioning properly. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

  1. Check the wiring: Make sure all the wiring for the X-axis motor and endstop are securely connected and not damaged. If there is a loose connection, it can cause the motor to fail.
  2. Check the stepper driver: The stepper driver is responsible for controlling the motor's movements. If it is damaged or not working correctly, it can cause the motor to malfunction. You can try swapping the stepper driver with another one from the printer's board to see if it fixes the issue.
  3. Check the belt tension: If the X-axis belt is loose, it can cause the motor to struggle to move the extruder along the X-axis. You can try tightening the belt to see if it improves the motor's movement.
  4. Check the motor: If the motor is damaged or not working correctly, it can cause the extruder to only move along the right side of the plate. You can try swapping the motor with another one from the printer's board to see if it fixes the issue.

If none of these steps fix the issue, it may be best to contact Flashforge's customer support for further assistance.
