if you can take an iPhone 8 apart, it shouldn't be a problem. If not, use the instructions in iFixIt or find a good repair shop. If you do it yourself, of course you will save money :-)
remove the screen and remove the main (rear) camera. You now have clean access to the broken lens glass. Clean the edge of broken glass crumbs and dirt. Reinsert the camera and check operation. You can clean the camera mechanism with compressed air or a brush (avoid contact with the lens from the front), this will unlock the magnetic mechanism if blocked. If there is no improvement, replace the main camera. The lens glass can be purchased and pasted into the housing, it will not be a problem. Remember that the camera must not be exposed to dust. Dust kills the magnetic lens stabilizer. Keep the camera removed from the housing in a plastic bag (it's antistatic inside)
that's all, quick work, quick money saved.
