The GameCube is Nintendo's fourth console gaming system. Repair is simple and requires only common tools.

Disks won't spin after replacing the laser

I just replaced the laser in an old gc, and it's moving, but the disk isn't spinning up. Not sure if that was already happening or if it's a new problem though. What can I try now?

Update: took it apart again to check for that solder ball, and now the disc spins, but the laser doesn't turn on

@sadmango, Did you remove the solder ball all lasers are supposed to be shipped with to make it transport safe?

Go back over the connections you disconnected and make sure they are all connected correctly.
