How can I fix separation between the front and rear cases?

I tossed my controller against the ground and there was a popping noise and the front and rear cases separated on the left side. It didn't separate very much, but is there any way to push them back together?

There is a good chance you broke one of the mounting posts. I would say follow one of the guides to separate the controller case halves and inspect for damage. If you can, carefully bend back any damaged plastic pieces. Heating the plastic part that's bent may help prevent breaking, but plastic doesn't like to be bent or unbent. Epoxy may also be your friend here. You might be able to restructure or reconnect broken parts.
