Why can't I get first gear
My 2015 hyundai elantra won't get first gear. It jumps to second then 3. Does anyone know why or how can I fix it?

It is possible the clutch is going out.
Sometimes it goes gradually, like
1st, 2nd, &/or Reverse gears start skipping or become increasingly difficult to shift into;
other times out of the blue & @ once.
■ The number one cause of all
(manual & automatic) transmission problems, from slipping to abnormal sounds, is: low transmission fluid.
■ The gears may be worn out.
Have them checked to see if they need to be replaced.
This applies even if you’ve taken care of the transmission.
■ Broken Transmission Bands.
■ Failing Torque Converter.
If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest taking it to a mechanic or to an Auto Zone.
Because when/if it does go out...you will be immediately stranded with an automobile that cannot start and needs to be towed.

Some automatics have D and D2 where selecting D2 bypasses 1st gear, recommended in icy conditions when driving from a stop. By entering 2nd gear, less wheel spin can help move from a stop on ice. D always starts in 1st gear. If you have this type of auto, try entering Neutral then creep the shifter into D and see if your car starts in 1st gear. The issue may be the Park/Neutral shift switch on the xmission or linkages between shift lever and P/N switch.
