Phone stuck on charging screen after own crappy repair

Hello, I’ve got a bit of a situation here. I was trying to change my glass back using heat but ripped off flash and charging coil. Ordered new flex cables (flashlight and charging coil) and installed them. Assembled the phone and now it is stuck on charging screen when I connect charger. After 5 or more minutes it shows apple logo and goes back to charging screen. I did a bad job assembling it and it might have something to do with flex cables or what not(might have bent them accidentally or something). The question is what should I look for? What are most likely things that I messed up? I know that Its my own fault and hope that somebody will help me to figure out what exactly could be wrong. Thanks a lot to everyone!

That’s awesome! The fact the phone is working- not the volume button haha. Double check your connections on the board with the volume buttons.

Also in the future, my best method for rear glass repairs is doing a full housing swap with small parts included such as this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement-Bac...

You have to swap the screen, battery, Face ID, and motherboard. I find it to be a lot less of a risky practice.

Glad your phone is on! Sorry if I scared you with the potential motherboard damage haha.

Hey man,

I have some ideas so I don't want to say you're completely SOL, but the use of heat could be bad if the motherboard was cooked while getting that back glass off, or while the coil was ripped out. Most shops if they repair the back glass with a modular part rather than a rear system usually use a laser to minimize the amount of heat that has to be used on the phone.

That being said, if there is no motherboard damage I would start with the battery. My guess is that there is a power issue right now and that's what I'm hoping for since that's easier than motherboard damage. Inspect the connectors and check that the battery is seated properly.

In the event that there is motherboard damage, which I would say is likely but hopefully not, I would take it to a microsoldering lab. If you have the equipment, you could take readings on the board or use a resin pen to try to find the fault that is likely drawing all the power from the phone (since it is attempting to boot); But in my experience chasing a fault down and replacing all the affected parts is kind of a pain and time consuming process.

Let's hope its not the latter option, but maybe try a new battery if somehow that was damaged somehow during the repair. Best of luck and keep us updated!

Huge thanks for help! I ordered myself a new battery and hope that it changes something. If not - well I am screwed:D My relative asked me if I could change back glass( I changed it on X so I thought the process would be the same but the glue on 11 is nuts) and now I am stuck in a lot of trouble just trying to help😕 Thanks once again, if battery doesn’t help I think I am going to take it to some soldering place. The worry is that they probably will charge a lot for such a hard job.
