The issue is if the part is new or used!
A new park won't have been calibrated so it the camera won't work.
If you get a used part then the calibration has already been performed.

Hi, so in that case what do you have to do ? To make the camera work and true tone ? Will Apple calibrate it for a fee ?

@C O - Depending on the person you speak with at the Apple Store and if they have a lab in the back (many stores don't).
They have been know to refuse and if they do it they will need to charge you the one hour service fee
So the smarter direction is getting a used display as it will have been calibrated!
Maybe... when Apple opens up their self repair program in the next three to five years or so it will be possible. Even still are you willing to wait that long??

Need to get a used display if you want the camera to work and TrueTone which uses a sensor within the camera assembly.
