Not working after motherboard swap

i had spilled water on my mid 2015 MacBook pro a1398 with dual graphics. I Swapped the motherboard with a new one-it was a 2.5ghz one, this time with a 2.8. it bootlooped at first, then would chime with no display or external display. i replaced it with another new board and had the same issue. i took it apart and made sure everything was connected etc. suggestions? i don’t think it could be because the new board has a different processor, they were all made and used at the same time. thanks—

Answer this question I have this problem too

You likely have more damage than the logic board. Where did the water go and what was in the water?

any ideas where besides in the motherboard the issue could be? it was only water and really a small ammount.

@newhouse - What part of the system did it get into? That could help figure out what needs to be investigated.

someone on annother forum suggested i disconnect the internal display and try again-finally saw something on the external display, guess my display broke too. weird since windows works fine while macos goes right to recovery mode.

@newhouse - Thats not that uncommon! The T-CON logic within the display is what got wet and/or the display cable connection in the display or main logic board. What you are seeing is the Windows uses the lower scan rate unlike macOS which will use the higher scan rate which is a different circuit.

thanks for the explaination- i think it may be just the cable, since there was definitely corrosion there, aswell as a pin which got bent- I'll at least try that before buying a new display. Were you referring to the scan rate as an explanation for windows working while the mac partition got lost?

thanks
