Unable to hook battery to motherboard (pictures)

Hello. I was able to take the battery out of the iPhone 8 Plus and replace the new one, but I cannot get the battery connector piece and the piece below it to click into place so that I can attach the screen/display and test that the battery is installed and the phone will turn on properly.

I’m not 100% sure but I think I might have installed the battery too far to the right/close to the motherboard and it also may be up a bit too high.

Do I need to purchase a new motherboard? What do I need to do to fix this?

peel off the new battery again and check if it is for this model (mistakes happen). Attach a new battery without glue, try to fit it in. If it is impossible to click, do not try to force it but consult the nearest repair shop. Someone will certainly help in such a case for free.

However, if you can easily connect the battery connector, disconnect it again, apply glue (epoxy strips) and the screen seal. Place the battery in the provided place. Connect the screen, battery last. Turn on the phone and check the screen operation. If everything is fine, turn off the phone, tighten the brackets and close the screen, remembering about the wires - they should hide inside. Snap it in and use it.

Thank you for your answer. I was able to get the pieces to connect and the phone turned on. It charged and it’s working properly.
