Changed the battery on my wife's 6s, and now she has "no service" mess

Changed the battery on my wife’s 6s (iFixit kit), and now she has “no service” message and can’t make or receive calls. Took phone to Target (where we bought the phones and set up our Consumer Cellular accounts, and Best Buy for a “geek support” visit, and both places told us you can’t replace the batteries in 6s phones, or you will lose service, and it can’t be reset. They both suggested getting new SE phones, that we need 5G, not 4g devices, as service providers (T-Mobile, our carrier) are no longer supplying signals to 3G or 4G devices like the iPhone 6s. I’m very frustrated, and trying to get an appointment at our local Apple store, for a Genius Bar appointment. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

As a former Geek I’m rather enraged that geek Squad would say this. I can’t tell you how many iPhone 6S batteries I changed during my years there. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds (I survived the year 2018 somehow).

Anyhow. The cellular antenna is very close to the battery connector on the 6S, I wonder if it accidentally got disconnected when you disconnected the battery.

I reopened the phone, checked the battery and surrounding connector, the antenna lead and it’s connector, and all seem to be connected fine. Now I hear that T-Mobile, our carrier through Consumer Cellular, are making major connector changes through February, and our cellular signal is affected by this. I contacted CC and they are sending AT&T SIM cards for both of our phones. I’ll try those along with using WIFI calling in our home (which works well) to get through this. I tried to make a Genius Bar appointment through Apple, but all the site gives me for support is Target, and Best Buy stores, not even the one Apple store which is located in Brea, CA. This is all due to Covid-related issues. Not sure what to do next, but her new battery (from iFixit) is working fine.

I had to take the iPhone to a repair center. They told me one of the issues was a chip on the logic board which went bad. The other issue was a flex-cable on a new screen which I just purchased from iFixit and installed. I'll check the parts warranty on that item.
