Laptop turns on but blank screen after battery replacement

I have just replaced the battery on my MacBook Pro following the iFixIt guide - all seemed to go well but I’ve turned on my MacBook after charging and the screen is blank, despite making the power on sound.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or know where I can check if the LCD display is connected properly?

Hi @henlomate

It could be your back light circuit not working. Shine a torch onto the screen after the startup chime and see if you see a faded Apple logo on the screen.

If you remove the back cover you should be able to see the LCD connector as per the image below

Make sure you disconnect the battery first before touching the LCD connector to prevent blowing the LCD circuit accidentally!

Have look at the connector itself to see if there is any burn marks, missing pins or blown components nearby.

I would add aim the flashlight though the lids logo as being more effective, you should see your desktop and its icons.
