Novice: difficulty to replace screen myself?

Broke my screen and now have a very solid vertical white line on the absolute right side of the screen. It runs the length of the screen as well. Do I need to replace the digitizer as well? Plus, how challenging will this be to do myself? Thanks

If you’re going to DIY this repair you’ll need an entire screen assembly. The digitizer is what senses your touch and seeing as you have a vertical line, you damaged the OLED panel which is what puts the picture up on the screen. So your only option is to replace the whole screen. If you go on Mobile Sentrix you can order a whole screen assembly with a frame. Just make sure you order the right one according to the model number you have. If you order the wrong one you’ll probably get a “No Sim Installed” message which is usually due to the wrong charge port being installed as the new frame assembly comes with a new port preinstalled. All you’ll need to do is transfer the internals over like the cameras, battery, and motherboard. Be sure to watch lots of guides online and order an extra back glass just in case you damage the original.

Good luck and I hope you have success repairing your device!
