I replaced my dryer belt but still not turning.

I replaced the dryer belt, but when I started the dryer up again it heats (very hot, almost smelled burnt) but drum doesn’t turn. I noticed the dryer belt was very tight to put on, is it possible the size is too small, could that prevent the turning?

double check the belt model and installation

If the belt is specified to fit the dryer it should be the right size unless they gave u the wrong belt.

Is the motor turning? Did the drum turn b4 u put the belt on - IE not jammed.
