Kernel_task greater than 100%.

I upgraded my memory to 16GB and now the fan runs constantly and the kernel_task is greater than 100%. The screen no longer works and I may have damaged the screen connector, so I am using an external monitor. Needless to say, my upgraded machine is much slower than when it was 8GB.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately my display connector seems to be damaged.

Ouch! From the frying pan into the fire.

Sadly the display needs to be connected as there are sensors within it which SMC needs to get there input. Without them SMC goes into CPU Safe mode ramping up the fan and lowering the CPU’s clocking. Which is why things are messed up.
