How come my device won't charge anymore?
Will not charge anymore. Bought a new charge pack and didn't make a difference. It will turn on but will not charge. Jbl boombox 1

I repaired a jbl speaker that had the same issue. With the charger connector being plugged in and out, over time the charge port solder connections had cracked and came away from the board. 2 minute solder job and it worked as it should again. Sounds like yours might have the same issue.
crwdns2934105:0crwdne2934105:0
how did you do this? I do not see any way to access the circuitry to fix it.
Where exactly was the cracked solder on the mother board? I have the board out of the speaker but do not see where a crack would be
@hammered88 where the charge port is soldered to the board.
Yes how do I gain access to the power board to resolder charging port soldering points? The whole area is hot glued and inaccessible. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@alichauhan911 reads like a typical canned ChatBot answer. Bunch of regurgitated stuff. You want to be transparent about using those on here. Make sure you let people know that this is a bot generated answer and you are responsible for its content!
Yes I second that wholeheartedly. When I contacted JBL support their troubleshooting tips were unsuccessful afterwards they wanted to suggest I buy a new JBL authorized charger and battery. Or send it to an authorized service center where the initial base price was 150 USD just to diagnose without any further trouble shooting tips or help because I was out of warranty.
how to troubleshoot my jbl boombox 2 ?
Bryce Compton when you say charge pack I assume you mean the battery. If that is correct than you have to do some preliminary testing. First try a different charge cable/charge adapter. Next you want to try a complete reset.
* If that is still not working the issue may be your charge connector. Check and see if there is obvious damage like broken bend or corroded pins. Check for debris inside the connector.
If all of that looks good but still does not work you could be having a bad port or a bad charging circuitry on your circuit board. You’d have to tear it down and take a look at the board for obvious damage. Post some pictures of the board with your Question so we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question
.

Of course, schematics or service manual is not available for this speaker.
I am having the same issue. I have pulled the mother board but do not see any obvious damage. I hooked a volt meter up to the board when plugged in, I have a reading at the port and to the circuit board but lose the power is not making it to the battery plug.
@hammered88 where are you measuring? What are you seeing? You will need to convert this to its own question and add some images so we can see what you see. hopefully we can find a couple of boards and see if we can track this all down.
@Anthony I think I’m having the same problem as you. I checked the charging port and there is a voltage so the port isn’t broken. The current goes through the cables to the board but the battery doesn’t charge… (battery is brand new). How can I check the charging circuitry? Is it even worth it to try and fix this problem or not?
@Anthony, I am having the same problem. Have you found a solution? I do t want to buy a new motherboard if it’s something simple.
charging pin has broken
crwdns2934105:0crwdne2934105:0
Charging pin yes
Check that your charger and cable work.
Try them with another device.
Check that the cable is securely connected to the charger and to your phone.
Check that there's nothing in the port of your phone, like dust or lint.
This May Work,
Peter

Has anyone figured it out already?
My JBL boombox 1 won’t charge as well…
I checked the charging port and there is a reading when I measure the cables coming out of the charging port with my multimeter so that isn’t broken, the battery is brand new and it won’t charge. Is it possible that the charging circuitry on the main board is broken? If yes, how can I check to see if it’s indeed the charging circuitry’s fault or even fix that if it is indeed the culprit? The main board looks clean and there doesn’t appear any visible damage. It’s very frustrating. Can someone please help?! 🤞🏼
