Why is my screen black?

my phone seems to be completley broken, theres no screen however i still feel the vibrations from the home button and mute/unmute button. i have no clue whats going on as even hard resetting isnt even working, i know when its turned off because i can no longer feel the home button vibrating and when i boot it back up i can but theres just nothing on the screen just total black. any advice or is my phone completley done for?

Shine a light on the screen, if you see the picture it could be a backlight issue or could be the screen has went bad.

Yep, unfortunately it seems like the screen is faulty. The vibrations clearly mean the phone is functioning well and not software related. Either the connectors have come loose, the screen has been physically damaged(internally, not visible), or the screen is faulty. Either way the easiest option would be to replace the screen entirely rather than attempt a backlight IC repair.
