Why are my images distorted when view them in full view?

Hello all,

I hope you can help me with my images being distorted when look at full view. Using Catalina

See the two images below... the one on the left is a clear image of a puppy and then, as soon as I click on it to expanse, the image just becomes distorted

Block Image

I even tried a different viewer with same result

Is it only this one image or others?

All images. They are stored in the iCloud. The images work fine on iPad or MacBook laptop. Just my desktop (iMac 27" EMC 2639). The iMac has been factory reset with a fresh copy of Catalina with latest updates. Soon after logged into my iCloud, this is what happened.

@techmanuk - Down load one of the images to your local drive using file copy from finder accessing your iCloud drive saving to your systems HDD/SSD. Now open it from within Photos app. Did that work correctly?

Thank you for all your suggestions... I have noticed that jpg works, but not RAW format. Is there a plugin I'm suppose to install in order to get RAW format working?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@techmanuk - RAW is a bit nebulous! RAW what? Canon, Hasselblad, Minolta, Nikon, Sony or still something else. To add to it what is the detector your camera has as that even comes into the picture.

As an example my Hasselblad 500cm CFV II digital back RAW format is not supported in Photo's.

Thank you. It all make sense now... Just looked on canon website for Canon D5 Mark II and downloaded the necessary utility/photo editor. I can see the RAW images now
