Real Max RAM capacity on New MacBook Pro (Quad-core Core i7) Late 2011

Hi,

I realize that Apple says these macbook pros take only 8Gig RAM. However, I have read many places that they can actually take 16Gig (2 x 8Gig). Can someone with real experience confirm this? This is the only factor that would make me to upgrade my macbook pro.

And also need to know if iFix it carries the RAM module that is compatible for this purpose.

Thanks,

Nasser

Update

For those who maybe interested I went ahead with this and it worked like a charm. I ordered memory from OWC and what a great experience and service. :)

Hello Nasser, What you are asking is for confirmation from someone who has made the upgrade. I don't know if you will get an answer to your question but I can tell you that Mactracker says the upgrade is possible. Links provided.
