It may be safer and cause less damage to the card reader if the phone was opened and the card removed that way.
Here’s the ifixit Samsung Galaxy S9 Motherboard Replacement guide that may help.
Step.15 shows where the card reader is located on the motherboard.
It may seem doing all this is unnecessary but if the reader’s pins were damaged when trying to remove the card from the outside then the reader would have to be replaced which would cost even more.
If doing this yourself seems too daunting, contact a reputable, professional mobile phone repair service and ask for a quote to remove the card.
In the meantime it may be prudent not to charge or to turn on the phone as the metal on the SIM card may be shorting out parts of the motherboard as it may not be located where it should be.
