Do iPhone 7’s naturally run hot?

I purchased a used iPhone 7 and replaced the cracked screen with a new one. It is in cosmetically almost mint condition now (housing was in very good condition), however have noticed that when 20Watt fast charging it and during use it can get quite hot near the logic board. The device hasn’t been water damaged (indicator is white) and the logic board is in visibly perfect condition with no signs of logic board repairs, and all parts appear to be Apple Original. Any ideas? I have another 7 as a spare that can also get quite hot when playing games so I don’t know if it is just a thing with the 7’s?! Thanks (:

iPhone 7 doesn’t support fast charging, the best it can do is about 7.5-10w.

Since we can’t be sure of your subjective experience of temperature, all we can do is ask you to get a known good iPhone 7 to compare, if they behave the same consistently, then it is normal.

Okay cool - I will try it against another 7 or 7 Plus if I can’t find one, and will use standard changing brick and see if that works better. Thanks!
