Have you tried inserting the SD card from the system into a card reader that is connected to the computer, you didn’t say?
A lot of laptops already have a card reader in them but most desktop PC would need a USB card reader (examples only) connected to them.
The problem then may be what video file format is being used by the device. What is the file type associated with the video files on the SD card?
You could try using VLC media player as this supports a lot of the formats that some other players don't.
