Released November 2020, the PS5 console features vastly upgraded visuals and an innovative new Dualsense controller. The space-age black-and-white color scheme is a noticeable departure from PlayStation designs of the past.

Is the ps5 a universal voltage device like the ps3 and ps4?

Maybe yes. The term they use is “dual” voltage meaning 110-240volts but look at the label on the “brick”. It will state what voltage and 50 or 60 Hz or 50-60Hz.

All you need to do is change the "figure 8” mains voltage power cable.

But Daniel is correct it can vary from region to region so just look at the label and see what it says

That's not necessarily true… I have a European PS5 and it only lists 220-240 v.

Be careful

i think on the outside cover of the PS5 it shows the voltage for the region it is supported in, but are all PSUs inside the same 100-127 & 200-240? if so then its all good and will just need to change the cable

Paul Brandenburg it shows that on the outside due to having been sold in the EU. Open it up and you will find the voltages listed as 100-120 and 200-240. Sony continues to use a World wide PSU

Daniel is right. My EU purchased PS5 is 220-240V meaning it will not work in North America

Oldturkey03, I would love that to be the case, but why does Sony list 220-240V if that’s the case when they list 100-240V in the US? Also taking it apart is a bit cumbersome …

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@Paul Brandenburg they do not. In the US it is listed as 100-127 and 200-240V on the case.https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/ig... this has to do with government regulations etc. for the individual countries/regions where it is being sold.

Model CFI 1116A.

220-240v

1.65A

50/60 Hz

I'm in US .

I'm not sure if I could just plug in to 110v

With regular US power cord.

Help me pls!
