On-screen keyboard inactive; locked out of my phone.
I bought a brand new Oukitel WP8 Pro. While configuring the equipment to my liking, the GBoard stopped responding, the system locked me out and I can no longer insert the unlocking PIN.
I’ve already tried the the basic approach - reboot - and the system remains with the same problem. Hard reset is not available, for some reason I ignore; the option is simply not listed.
The phone still hadn’t been set up with a Google account, as I was still getting acquainted with the new Android 10 it carries. It has less than two hours of use.
For some reason, it does not connect with my computer. Under Windows, the system returns a message that the MTP Device driver was installed with errors and under Linux the phone is recognized by the system but returns an error when trying to access the device. ADB access is not available.
Is there any way I can hard reset it or should I return the phone to the seller and request a new one?

Apparently, this phone has two bot up menus. By pressing Power+Down, the system displays an hardware test menu, by pressing Power+Up, the standard boot menu with reset option shows.

I have the same problem which I think is very very idiotic. It's happened to me TWICE ! WHy is this even possible to do in the realm of ANY electronic device ?

It's not the devices fault you downloaded an app that interfered with its normal operation. That's a 'you problem' lol... It happened to me also but I was also using multiple launchers and icon packs... Oops... 🤷
I'm just grateful I was able to factory reset and restore without any issues. In my case everything was perfectly fine until I installed something from the Neon Dots icon app (Nothing Phone Theme). My phone crashed out, restarted and I couldn't get back in because I had a 17 letter password set and no keyboard popping up.
By the way you can use the voice access app under lock screen conditions if you have 'accessibility features active on lock screen' turned on, kinda important (under accessibility settings), then have it type the password in for you, but then you need to be in a private space since you have to say your password clearly.
Side note: I have the 42GB RAM model and a 2 TB micro SD card and it runs great, for a budget phablet... Side note2: Tablet mode is 600+ DPI (Dev Settings).

Oh also tablet mode is not fully supported and some apps will not scale properly in landscape mode forcing you to either increase DPI to fix a widget, or lower DPI to fix microscopic text in certain apps.
