Is the Taptic Engine of the iPhone 7 replaceable?

A friend has asked me to replace the screen and battery of her iPhone 7, but I’m worried about removing the Taptic Engine, as I’ve never done a battery in this model of phone before.

Worst-case scenario, and I break the Taptic Engine, does the iFixit replacement function as the original would?

Thanks for taking the time to read

There is no need to remove the taptic engine to replace the battery on the 7 series if the adhesive strips under the battery pull out. If they break it is a good idea to remove the taptic engine as you will need to pry the battery loose.

You will have no problem removing the taptic engine if necessary, just follow the ifixit guide and you will not damage it. And yes they can be replaced if needed.

Thanks, I always opt to remove dock connector (but in this case Taptic Engine) to remove battery as I have a rather terrible history with the pull tabs. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t like the home button.
