When will a screen replacement kit and guide be released?

Is there a date announced?

Hi! Thanks for the question!

Our guide team has been working on Pixel 4a guides including a screen replacement guide which will go live very soon.

Pixel 4a kits are still in the works.

Thanks! It's needed. I just had UBreakIFix replace it for $150 before tax and I've already broken the new one...

@Paul Those guides are live!

You'll have to find another source for parts for now, but we have plenty of tools :)

Thanks Sam. Any ETA on the kits? The guide looks really simple so I'm hoping to try it out.

Hello! As of August 2022, the Pixel 4a replacement screen appears to be sold out.

Any idea when it will be available again? Thanks!

@aerospacemano, that's a question better directed at iFixit customer support, rather than blasted out to the hundreds of users who read these questions and try to help.

You can message them on their contact form here:

or email them at support@ifixit.com

The screen replacement is super simple. I will link this video to give you a better understanding, it also has a toolkit linked in the description.

There is no official guide at the moment on their website, however there is a basic teardown video iFixit made on YouTube, however it is slightly brief. Jerryrigeverything just released his teardown video on YouTube, along with a couple of other videos on YouTube. He said it is similar to the Pixel 3a - however getting a proper guide before repair would be preferable. Taylor from iFixit talks about the Pixel 4a here; https://www.ifixit.com/News/43537/the-pi...

Hope this helps
