I replaced the battery, and now it won't stay on

I’ve replaced the battery because it wouldn’t hold a charge. Now that I’ve put it all back together, I plugged it in to charge. Almost immediately, the apple logo comes on. That was expected. But after about 15 seconds, the screen flashes red and turns off. Then does this all over again. I’m afraid to leave it plugged in for fear of causing permanent damage. Has anyone had this issue before, or have suggestions? Thanks!

Hi,

Try to use the old battery to see if it turns on. It's also possible that you damaged the area around battery connector. Have a look, there are a few tiny components which you could've knocked off. Unfortunately red screen could also mean nand issues which would require reprogramming. If it's the nand it's not worth fixing imo. Probably cheaper to get another mini2. If it's a knocked off component it depends on how much you get charged to fix it.
