Did the keys work before you changed the battery? If not then the swelling of the battery might have damaged your keyboard.

Thanks, amatsuda. I was afraid the the damage was permanent. They were working before I took out the swollen battery. I assume that you don't know how to fix the keys that now don't work. "delete, question mark, equals"
