Coffee damage - need your advice what's worth to do next.

Hi there! I know there are several topics on the subj, seeking your advice what’s worth to do.

Spoiler: This text includes stupid moves by me, readers discretion is advised.

In a heat of a fight, some coffee got spilled on my MBP A1398 (15inch, mid 2014). It’s not a first time it gets coffee, red wine... It survived all of it and some more for many years.

I quickly force-turned it off, flipped it around, opened it up, disconnect battery, cleaned any visible coffee. Normally I would wait 3+ days before doing anything else.

Not this time. For whatever stupid reason i had, I waited about 15min and turned it back on. It did work. When trying to enter password, I could see keyboard was acting a bit weird (1 keystroke could add 2-3 symbols).

I did realise my stupidity. Before I could turn it off, it did so by itself. Black screen. Green light from charged disappeared. No response anymore.

Now I’m gonna let it dry for some days and try again, but my hopes are low.

So, I need your advice how to proceed from here. Should I try to turn it on after 3-5 days and see if it comes back to live? Or since it shut down by itself, chances are close to zero?

You think it’s worth to spend 100-200$ on a repair, to open it up, clean it up and try to turn it off? Or once again, chances are close to zero?

Last, but not least. I’m considering to get box to connect my SSD (if it still alive) and save all my data. I ment to do a backup for some months now, but I never got my hands on it. Yes, stupid, I know.

Anyway, what do you think is chance of it coming back to life and what would be your advice?
