Had it lying around for about 1~2 years. After charging up and open back the screen turns into some water-ish damage almost entire screen while the edges still looked normal.
Is the screen panel damaged? Or is it some steam trapped between screen panel and glass panel?

I have seen this before; unfortunately, your LCD has suffered permanent damage. I can’t give you an exact reason why this happens, as there are many, but in most cases, this can be attributed to either too much heat or pressure on the display. If this machine was sitting somewhere that gets a lot of sunlight, or stacked beneath other items for a prolonged period of time, this problem will develop.
You will need to replace the LCD or the entire display assembly (whatever you’re more comfortable doing).

You'll need to plug in an external monitor to be sure you don't have anything deeper.
