Why did my chromebook turn off and won't turn on again?

It was dark and I was trying to plug in the charger. The charger accidentally touched the HDMI port directly and it sparked real quick and my chromebook turned off instantly. The lights will not come on when plugged in and the chromebook will not turn on.

I know it's been a few years since you posted about this issue, but it sounds like something inside your Chromebook was shorted. I would open the device up to see if there is any visible damage to the motherboard. I also highly recommend taking a look at this troubleshooting page.
