My speakers are connected through an aux cable yet not working.

My speakers are connected through an aux cable yet not working. Instead, audio is been played through the speakers of the laptop even though speakers are connected via aux.

I would guess your aux might be broken but first I would go into your audio settings and see if it detect the external speakers

they are not detected. what can i do? they were working just fine this morning then all of a sudden it just stopped. using the same aux cable, when they are connected for example to my phone it works just fine. for some reason, when i connect my speakers via my laptop the speakers dont make any sounds, and instead the laptops audio works instead (realtek).
