Why wont my iPod Touch respond to being plugged in or button inputs?

I have recently found my old IPod Touch and wanted to see what was on it (granted it has been sitting there for over a year). While trying, it was completely unresponsive. Nothing on the screen, no response to button inputs and no response to being charged/plugged in to my computer. Im going to go out on a limb and say its either the battery or the logic board that is dead. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

I have a similar issue, only the thing responds to button inputs and shows a white screen. Currently I'm suspecting it's an issue with the board.
