Hi @mouthforwar70 ,

What is the model number of the refrigerator?

You have selected a caravan fridge.

Hi @mouthforwar70

The “….door alarm goes off randomly” may be the clue.

It may be a faulty door switch.

One way to find out if it is a faulty door switch, if that is the problem, is to leave a door open and to manually operate the switch by hand and check if the lights go out in the compartment as I suspect that the switch is used for two functions, telling the control board to turn the lights on and off and also to turn the evaporator fan on and off.

Another way to check the door switches is to place your ear next to the fridge cabinet and check if you can hear the evaporator fan running. It will stop when a door is opened and start again when the door is closed.

With most fridges the evaporator fan which is in the freezer compartment behind a panel supplies the cold air to the refrigerator section to cool the fridge down to the set temperature.

When a door is opened (either door - freezer or fridge) the fan is stopped as you don’t want to blow the cold air out of the fridge or freezer. It falls out quick enough as it is. Hot air rises, cold air falls.

Do not confuse this fan with the condenser fan, which is located underneath the cabinet outside the compartments, near the compressor unit. It will run to cool the condenser coils and the compressor and does not stop when a door is opened.

Here’s a link to the parts for your refrigerator.

Click on the Cabinet parts diagram on the left of the page to find all the door switches (part #93) and the Freezer drawer and baskets parts diagram to find the magnetic reed switch (part #87)

If you scroll down the “parts” diagrams you will come to the wiring diagrams. In the 2nd wiring diagram, you will find the door switches and how they are connected to the lights and the control board and there is a “sense” lead mentioned with them.

Hopefully this is of some help and apologies for the long post
