MacBook Trackpad works but doesn't click. (Liquid Damage).

I recently spilt coffee on my MacBook trackpad, quickly tried to wipe it off but some of it seemed to have seeped through. Everything works properly, I haven't had any issue with the MacBook except for the click. The trackpad doesn't seem to click anymore.

I took it to apple and they said I have to replace the whole logic board and the trackpad, and that it would cost me about $1299 which doesn't make sense. After a while the trackpad click started to work again, but only slightly, I can feel faint clicks every time I press down on it.

Should I get a replacement trackpad or should I just try and clean it up once and see if that helps, there are coffee stains inside the MacBook. If I can clean it, How would I do it?

Are there kits from IFIXIT to handle such cases?

Remove the track pad and clean it with alcohol and a brush, and if it does not fix the problem, replace it.

That's what I was thinking, but I'm not sure what kind of alcohol and alcohol to get or where to get it.

I know this reply is way too late to help Rakshith, but it may help someone else. The type of alcohol to use for cleaning is 99% isopropyl alcohol. It can be a little hard to find, but a good pharmacy or drugstore should carry it. If not, it can be found online, although the shipping maybe a little expensive. 70% isopropyl won't work well because there's too much water in it. 91% might work, but 99% is the best.
