iPad won't enter DRU nor Recovery Mode
I have tried multiple ways and directions on how to get this iPad, it’s model a1458, into either recovery or DFU mode, neither are working.
- When I try holding both power off and home button and never release them, it just keeps turning off, then apple logo, then off, then apple logo (keeps looping).
- When I try holding power and home to turn off, then when black screen release power but keep holding home, it just goes back to the ipad disabled screen.
- When I try holding home and plugging into USB it boots up to ipad disabled screen and itunes never finds it.
- I’ve tried all of the above with USB connected, then again without USB.
- I’ve also tried #2 with USB first unplugged, then when black screen plug into USB.
So I’ve tried a lot of combinations, I’ve also done this to other ipads before without issue, this one is belligerent.
Any ideas to get into recovery or DFU? I’m trying to factory reset without original icloud account since we don’t have it. Attached is what is on the screen now, it won’t connect to itunes anymore either.

So no answers to this at all? I am in a similar boat…..
My daughter's iPad is disabled because she messed about with the passcode. I have tried connecting to itunes/Finder however when attached to my Macbook, nothing happens. It is as if the computer does not detect the iPad. Because of that, I am not able to go into Recovery Mode. The iPad just keeps looping on and off and finally back to the "iPad disabled connect to itunes" screen. I have tried this with two Macbooks and several different charging cables so I know these are not the issue. I thought it was a hardware problem (the lightning port) but the iPad could charge using the wall outlet, but not when connected to any of my computers.
I have brought the iPad to some local mobile repair shop to try to go into Recovery mode but even they could not do it (iPad not detected by their computer too) and suggested that the issue might be with the logic board/ lightning port. I just wanted to check if anyone has found a solution to this before I proceed to just have the board replaced.

I know this article is a couple years old, but here is what I had to do. When my Ipad min refused to go into DFU mode on my mac I simply installed itunes on a Window10 Laptop. Held power and home button until Itunes said Ipad was in DFU mode and had to be rest to use with itunes. Funny why this worked but trying on pure Apple based platform no luck.
