My elite controller won’t connect via wireless anymore. It will work with a USB cable but once the cable is removed it turns off. Can this be fixed by replacing the motherboard?

Not sure if this helpfull but I had the same problem with a regular controller. my problem seemed to be my rechargeable battery pack. every time one went dead I would swap it over to my fully charged one but I had to connect it via usb to sync it. all it would do is slowly flash when turned back on. the battary parks where running out of life I.e not holding much charge anymore because when using regular double aa my controller would sync fine like it does with my knew battery packs.

Nope, the problem isn't the power source. New battery packs or new AA's don't work. Unless it's physically connected to the xbox via usb, it doesn't work.
