Samsung shp dp920 fingerprint sensor cover not opening. What's wrong?

I have a digital door lock which has a cover on the fingerprint sensor. It now doesn’t open after being activated. Does anyone know what’s wrong and if I have to get the whole thing replaced? Thanks in advance.
