iPhone 6 restarting randomly after water damage.

My iPhone 6 has gotten water damaged, the SIM indicator is red. It stopped working for a while, and now it is restarting randomly. Any suggestions?

Edit after replacing battery.

So, even after replacing the battery, it is still restarting randomly, not as fast as before, but coconutBattery is still showing 5.5% Battery Health even after replacement. Could this now be a chip issue?

Hi @yootzmedia ,

Perhaps it may be helpful if you gave a few more details as to what you have already tried to do to resolve the problem

That way you may get answers more pertinent to the problem

I'm trying to cycle the battery, since coconutBattery says that the Design Capacity is 5.5%. It's in setup, that might be why. Although, it charges quickly, as if it WAS 100mAh.

Have you tried another battery? It's a relatively inexpensive part and it's common for liquid to get inside the battery.

I'm doing a battery replacement on Friday.

Battery has gone bad. I recommend getting the phone inspected for liquid damage. If none got on the board and screen still looks fine then you might just be able to get away with just a battery replacement.

Getting a new battery on Friday, and if it works, I'll accept your answer, but if not, I'll still accept.

Dude, H2O and cellphone or ANY electronic device don’t do well together. Lesson learned, and get another phone.

At least @benjamen50 actually put something that's ACTUALLY HELPFUL.

No, my answer is the most sensible, practical, and scientific. If folks can/will not accept criticism, they'll never learn much of anything.
