Clean and refresh the metal casing’s matte finish

After a few years, my iPhone 6S has taken a beating. There’s scratches around the sim tray and the antenna lines. But what I asking about is the finish. The matte space gray finish has been rubbed off after three years of friction, leaving a glossy bottom half of the device. Is there any way to return the matte finish to the device’s metal casing and plastic accents?

The only thing that comes to my mind is sanding but that’s not suitable for painted surfaces. Pictures show it’s well worn but doesn’t look that bad.. Best choice I think would be buying a housing where to move your logic board, you should be able to find new ones, but some are not very reliable, or a used one in pristine or very good conditions.
