Hi,

Have you seen it working before?

Just looking at the pictures of the board it appears as though Q1 has been removed, also R31. It looks like the board has been worked on.

Looking at other electronic ballast circuits they all seem to have 2 driver transistors controlled by a "chip", whereas on yours I can only see the one.

What good eyes you have! I was testing the two mosfets and had one out when my grandson took the pic. The llight worked briefly out of the box but died after 2-3 turn ons. I sent it to OCWhite for fix but they declined so I don't know what was done to it. Schematic anyone? Non-desecrated IC part number? Is the missing resistor in a working light? Does Luxo have a swap out ballast? Why is the sky blue? Yes, I have been investigating an LED solution but the purist in me wants to FIX the original. PS: the mosfets tested good.

It does look like components are missing from the board. I personally would rip out the preexisting components and just do an LED mod on it, you won't have a dimming feature but they will definitely out perform a flo bulb.

I am investigating an LED solution. Maybe using the strip lamps out of the free stick up switches from harborfreight. Xure would like to fix the original though! Have you seen any good conversions on utube?

I do led mod to screens all the time as I am a casino tech. Led strip to the luminosity you want with a 12v psu, you can cut the strips to the size you want.

May I have the details and source of the tape? Thx, Bill
