I changed the PSU and the battery, but my Mac Mini still won't boot

I ordered a replacement power supply from iFixit for my early 2010 Mac Mini (a1347), and installed it. I also replaced the BR2032 battery.

It is still not booting. Still not even making the slightest noise or light. Just as before the surgery.

Any suggestions?

That isn’t a great sign… did you try an SMC reset?

  1. Unplug the power cord
  2. Wait 15 seconds, then hold the power button for 5 seconds
  3. Plug in power cord, wait 5 seconds, and try to boot normally.

Otherwise your logic board is probably fried. Or you somehow got two bad PSUs, which seems unlikely.

Yes I tried the SMC reset.

As an extra measure, I left the battery out for a couple hours.

Bad news about the m-board.

Oh well. At least it came apart easily, thanks to the iFixit guide.

Thanks for the rapid response, Jonah.
