Why my Xbox 360 won't show any video or pictures

It turns on but it just shows like the A/V cord is not plugged in. But when I unplug the A/V cord while it's still on the power starts flashing red. What do I need to do?

Try using a HDMI cable. Does this still not work, if it does it might be your A/V cable or port.
