What happened when I touched two exposed pieces on the motherboard at the same time and phone buzzed now won't turn on or charge

Odds are the motherboard shorted out with the contact. You can try and use a voltmeter (such as a portapow) to see if the phone is drawing a charge when plugged in. But beyond that, you would need a bit more specialized equipment and phone schematic to see if and where the short occured.
