First boot after restore works but after a reset, it bootloops

So I am trying to fix a badly damaged iphone 8 plus.

I have unfortunately broke the flex cable of the home button and purchased an oem part knowing that the Touch ID function would not work.

However, after a restore, the phone boots up to the screen "Press Home to Start" which I am unable to do.

So I would restart the phone by unplugging the battery and power on to find out that the phone is stuck on the apple logo and after 20-30 seconds it would bootloop.

I would appreciate any help on the matter!

Note that the phone will be stuck in a apple logo boot loop if the battery is not plugged in.

If the home button is broken the phone will take like 5 minutes to boot.

I recommend taking the phone back to apple with the original broken screen put back together and go for the screen replacement as they replace the home button and screen as a whole assembly.

As you may already know the home button is not replaceable on these models without apple's special 'horizon calibration machine' to pair the home button to the phone

Thank you so much for your answer Ben! My battery is plugged back in before start up the phone. Everything is plugged in but it boot loops... Other than the front camera, display, battery, is there any other failure in the hardware that can stop the device from booting up?
