WiFi won't connect/stay connected

Hi! My HP won't connect to WiFi within my home. When it does connect, after continuous turning off and on, it only connects momentarily then quickly ddisconnects. The wifi works with all other devices. Replaced router and cords. Any help would be appreciated!

Update (05/25/2018)

@pcccheese

I got the internet to work! But it won't allow me to connect to my printer. I've updated the driver. It says ' driver not available.' I've removed it and readded. And it still won't connect. Any suggestions?

@nottechsavvy What brand is the printer and are you using Windows 10 or 7? Also, how new is this printer and does it have a USB port?

I'd check your drivers first.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/sel...

Scroll down to the "Driver-Network" area and download all of the driver's under that drop-down. Install them and restart your PC.

If it's still not fixed, please comment below and I help you further.

Hi @nottechsavvy ,

Download and install a WiFi scanner program (one of many available) to check the signal levels of the various WiFi networks and devices that the laptop can "see", in case there is a low level or no signal problem

Remember that the signal levels shown are a -ve value so the higher the number, the lower the actual signal strength

It will also help as it shows if your network is seen to be "sharing" the same WiFi channel as other networks which "may" be causing interference. If your network is on a 'busy' channel (lots of appearances in the scanner program list), change the router WiFi channel to a "quieter' one (no or few appearances in the list).

Usually WiFi routers etc default to Ch 1, 6, or 11 straight out of the box and nobody bothers to change them to suit and WiFi is the predominant method of connecting in homes, apartments etc.
