My iPod won't turn on and the home button is broken

so i left my ipod alone for about 2 minutes and when i went back to use it, IT WOULDNT TURN ON! i have left it alone for about 40 minutes and went to check on it and it still wont turn on! what should i i do!?!?

when you connect the charger or to itunes does it make sounds? when you say the home button is broken is it just the plastic or the flex?
