iPhone 5S infinite boot loop after screen replacement (No blue screen)

Hello all,

I replaced my iPhone 5s screen, shifted the front camera and Touch ID to the new screen.

While testing screen, I’m now stuck at infinite boot loop at Apple logo. There is no Blue Screen.

Here are a few things

1. I have lost 1 screw which sits lower side of the ear piece bracket.

2. The sticker flex which contains the front camera tore a bit while removing from old screen.(only the sticker part- the brown copper sticker)

3. No problem with home button as I can get the phone into DFU Mode

4. Connecting to iTunes in DFU mode gets me to restore iPhone, but it gets stuck at waiting for iPhone after extracting iOS Ipsw.

5. No issue with replacement screen as Apple logo appears and seems fine.

6. Phone doesn’t turn on while pressing power button as there was low battery

7. Tried installing old screen without the front camera, phone still goes into boot loop at Apple logo

8. There is no noticeable damage on board as such as I haven’t tried to tighten any screws

Can you guys help me?

Hello! To test the new screen the front-facing camera line installed together, I reckon you if the situation will turn blue is caused by the wrong screw motherboard line is damaged, you can check carefully

Hello fellow ifixit colleague! There's no blue screen, just regular Apple logo and continues reboot. I was very careful with the screws. I have mentioned in my questions the things I've tried and current situation

Try updating the phone via iTunes. If the phone happened to be not turned off properly it can cause the phone to boot loop.

Hi Ben, phone is getting stuck on waiting for iPhone on iTunes. It just pauses there

Hi there, I have the same problem:

Did a screen replacement, when testing, it's stuck in boot loop (without blue screen, just eternally stuck in apple logo and restarting, can't even turn it off). The same problem persists when I reattach the previously working screen.

I can get it in DFU mode, but can't update or restore the phone (error (9)).

Any tips what I might be able to do to get it to work again?

Thanks so much for your help,

Janosch

I have this exact problem now on 2 SE's did you find a fix?

I am going to embark on a mission to fix this. Will revert back this weekend.

Primarily I feel we have messed up the board by mixing screws while finishing up the repair.
