Is the screen cracked in any way?

Have you dropped it?

Any pressure been applied to the screen?

The lines indicate that the lcd is damaged.

The top portion of the lcd underneath the glass is very fragile so possibly that has been damaged in some way.

Cheap enough to fix if your competent and not too expensive to get a repair shop to do it.

Basically the phone was a hand me down from a close friend, The phone definitely seen some battle judging by scratches and dents on the plastic but the screen itself isn't cracked also I popped off the screws and carefully looked inside some components were pretty dusty and the small little white water damage indicator was red (I believe it's the water damage indicator)

Yeah that's the water damage indicator and if it's red it's definitely had some sort of liquid damage.

There is a possibility of corrosion on the connections between the logic board and the lcd ribbons.

Open it up and disconnect the battery, disconnect the lcd and check for corrosion.

Clean the connections with isopropyl alcohol and test.

If that doesn't work then the next step is to try a new screen.

Make sure to unplug battery first as well.

Will do, though will take me time to get a replacement screen if the cleaning doesn't work, any good places to source out a screen replacement in case. Also that alcohol solution won't damage any of the components or circuits?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Yeah 99% isopropyl alcohol is safe to use.

Hello Pedro, the alcohol will not damage anything. Just apply it carefully in the areas where you see corrosion, you want to focus on the battery and lcd connectors in particular and may be a good idea to clean them either way as sometimes corrosion can not be seen without a microscope. A good place to source a new screen if required is iFxit(I am not sure if they have stock). If not you can google and will find many suppliers, I would stick with only high quality parts and do separate reviews on whoever you choose.
