Im stuck in dfu mode after back panel change, there a solution?
I just changed a back panel on a 8gb 3G iphone, when i put it all back together and tried to turn it on, i had nothing. I noticed the power button was stuck in, so took the screen off again, pulled the power button out, and used a metal spudger to clean up the hole so the button didnt stick. Put it all back together, and had nothing. I plugged it in to see if itunes would recognize, and it was recognized in recovery mode. I tried almost every firmware from 2.0 to 4.2, jailbroken and not. Screen will come on, go through the entire restore process, then fail on error 6. Some firmwares wouldnt get that far, i would get error 1600 before it even began the restore process. I tried a couple recovery boot tools too, iRecovery and RecBoot. Using iRecovery in terminal, usb is loaded but phone/ipod not found. Using RecBoot i get the "awake my precious" but phone doesnt wake. Did i fry the logic board? What else can i try? Why did this happen in the first place? I took apart a waterdamaged 3G before, cleaned up, added new battery and dock connector with no issues!
Update
UPDATE:
Changed the logic board, works fine. I must've damaged something with either:
1) Metal spudger (my dog found the plastic one worked great as a toothpick)
2) The power button was lodged down while reassembling, possibly shorting something?
Im going to go through the board with a magnifying glass, and see if i can see anything. If not, i am just going to use it as a practice board for my new iFixit soldering iron!
